Bangladesh-India media teams visit Tin Bigha Corridor

RANGPUR, July 15, 2019 (BSS) – Media teams from Bangladesh and India visited the Tin Bigha Corridor in Lalmonirhat district under the North-west region of Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) on Sunday.

The media teams of both the neighbouring countries are on a four-day visit along the frontiers of the country’s North-west region from July 14 to 17.

Border Security Force (BSF) Public Relations Officer (PRO) Subhendu Bharadwaj is leading a 15-member Indian media team.

Earlier, acting commanding officer of Panchaghar Battalion Lt Col Md Tawfiq Ahmed Chowdhury welcomed the Indian media delegation at Banglabandha Immigration Check Post (ICP) on the day.

Besides, the media teams met in an interactive session with BGB North West Region Commander Brigadier General Jalal Goni this morning at the region’s headquarters in Rangpur.

Later, the teams visited ‘Padmar Par’ in Rajshahi.

During the visit, the media team will visit Sona Mosjid BOP in Chapainawabganj, Kantojew Temple and Haripukur BOP along Dinajpur border, Dharmaghar BOP and Molani BOP along Thakurgaon border.

Delegation members of both the sides will also interact and exchange views on concurrent border issues.

The BGB and BSF are organizing Bangladesh-India joint media team visit to both countries border areas since 2016 to strengthen the existing bilateral relations between the two border forces.
