DHAKA, April 24, 2018 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed profound shock and grief at the death of renowned poet, essayist and journalist Belal Chaudhury.
In a condolence message, the Prime Minister recalled the literary contribution of the Ekushey Padak winner, saying his poems made a position for him in the hearts of the countrymen.
Noting that Belal Chaudhury was also a pioneering journalist in the country, she said his writings would always motivate the people to be enlightened with patriotic spirit.
Sheikh Hasina conveyed her profound sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
Belal Chaudhury died at a hospital in the capital today at the age of 79.
