KHULNA, June 27, 2019 (BSS) – The 15th death anniversary of the winner of Ekushey Padak award journalist and organiser of Liberation War Humayun Kabir Balu was observed today.
Former Editor of a local daily Dainik Janmobhumi and President of Khulna Press Club Balu was killed in front of his office-cum-residence on June 27, 2004.
To mark the day, Khulna Press Club, Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ),
Humayun Kabir Balu Smrity Parishad and different socio-cultural organisations
chalked out different programmes.
The programme includes, placing tributes at the journalist’s monument on
Khulna Press Club premises, discussion and recitation from the holy Quran.
Apart from this, munajat and doa were offered at the graveyard of the
slain journalist.
