Former hockey player Ibrahim Saber passes away

DHAKA, June 19, 2019 (BSS)- Former hockey player Ibrahim Saber died of old-age complications this afternoon in the capital.

He was 75.

Saber, an icon in sporting achievement, left behind wife, two sons and a daughter to mourn his death.

Saber was a member of victorious Pakistan team in the First Hockey World Cup in 1971. He also played in the German hockey league for some time.

In independent Bangladesh, he represented the country in the Asian Games held in Dhaka in 1978. He also played for two top teams of hockey, football and cricket.
