Speakers for imparting training for drivers

GAIBANDHA, June 14, 2019 (BSS) – Speakers at a function here on Thursday
have underscored the need for imparting effective trainings for the drivers
in transport sector to prevent frequent road accidents.

“There is no alternative to training for motorists and drivers including
conductors and helpers to reduce road mishaps,” they said while addressing at
the inaugural session of a daylong training workshop for the professional
drivers of transport sector held at the auditorium of Zila Shilpakala
Academy.

Gaibandha Circle Office of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA)
arranged the training for the drivers in cooperation with district
administration, the office sources said.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin inaugurated the training as the chief
guest with Additional District Magistrate Jebun Nahar in the chair.

Additional Police Super Abdul Awal and Assistant Director of BRTA M Moynul
Islam were present as special guests.

The speakers said every year hundreds of accidents took place in the
country leaving many people dead and injured.

In this context, the speakers urged the drivers to keep their vehicles
fully fit and drive those carefully to stop road accidents and make the
movement of the people on the road safety.

The speakers also advised the drivers to know the important acts of Motor
Vehicle (Amendment) Law-1998 properly to build up their professional skills
and to avoid any untoward incident and harassment.

Later, Secretary General of Nirapad Sharak Chai (central committee) Syed
Ihsanul Haque, Instructor of Technical Training Centre, Gaibandha M Ibrahim
and Inspector of BRTA Aminul Islam Khan took part in the training as resource
persons.

As many as 250 drivers of motor vehicles including trucks, buses, micro-
buses and pick-up vans of the district participated in the daylong training.
