DHAKA, June 13, 2019, (BSS) – The government has announced proposed allocation of Taka 1489.12 crore for youth and sports in their proposed budget for 2019-20 fiscal year, Taka 30 crore 10 lacs and 17 thousand less than the current fiscal year.
“I propose an allocation of Tk 1489.12 crore in the next year’s budget for the development of youths and sports,” Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said today (Thursday) while placing the budget for the next financial year.
In the proposed budget Taka 214.15 crore has been allocated for development work while 1274.97.00 crore was allocated on operating issues.
Finance Minister in his speech said: “Our government is playing an important role in the development of national wide infrastructure for sports and culture to organize different types of competitions and events at national and district/ upazilla levels.
“Talented players from various sports are being hunted and provided with long term training. In the budget for FY 2019-2020, I propose to make special allocation of Taka twenty crore to Bangladesh Football Federation for the development of football for the country.”
