DHAKA, May 01, 2019 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today urged the working class people to remain alert against any sorts of conspiracy so that none can hamper the current pace of industrialization.

“Bangladesh is now on the track of highways of development . . . but a quarter cannot tolerate it. We have to remain alert against the conspirators,” he told at a meeting at Bangabandhu International Conference Center here.

Ministry of Labour and Employment organized the meeting marking the historic May Day with the theme “Build Workers-Owners Unity, Take Oath for Development”.

State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Munnujan Sufian presided over the meeting, while Parliamentary Standing Committee on Labour and Employment Chairman Mujibul Haque, Acting Secretary of the ministry Ummul Hasna, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Rubana Haque, ILO Country Director Tuomo Poutiainen, Bangladesh Employees Federation President Kamran T Rahman and Jatiya Sramik League President Shukkur Mahmud addressed the meeting as special guests.

Dr Hasan said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman struggled for the working class people throughout his life to build a happy and prosperous Bangladesh.

“Now, Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly for overall development of the country. The working class people are happy for her (Sheikh Hasina’s) various development and promotional projects,” he said.

Dr Hasan, also the publicity and publication secretary of the ruling Awami League, said just three years ago Bangladesh graduated to a developing country from the least developed country recognised by the United Nations and this was possible only for the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He said once a food deficient country, Bangladesh is now a food exporting country though it is one of the most densely populated countries in the glove.

Dr Hasan said the country became one of the top five countries of the world in GDP growth. The country has emerged as a perfect example of development before the world community, he added.

The country has witnessed a considerable progress as the present government has implemented many development programmes in the past 10 years, he said, adding that Bangladesh has exceeded many key indicators compared to India and Pakistan.

Munnujan said, “We should build the unity of workers and owners to build a developed and prosperous country for the future generation.”

Urging the working class people to love the country, the state minister said Bangladesh is moving forward under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

She said Bangladesh will become a developed nation if the huge population turned into skilled manpower and the country will turn as a rich country.

She urged the working class people to remain alert against all conspirators including the anti-liberation forces.
