CHITTAGONG, March 20, 2018(BSS)-Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu today appealed not to bracket Freedom Fighters and razakars in the same category.
The minister was speaking at a citizens’ mourning rally of deceased Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JASHOD) leader Advocate Abul Kalam Azad at Chittagong’s Studio Theater Maidan, said a press release.
He said, “BNP was trying to use the election to legalize criminals. They speak of democracy but carry razakars, militants and arsonists in their pockets. That’s why they are mock democrats. That’s why they need to be boycotted and tried.”
Inu said that weighing democrats and conspirators were tantamount to subversion. He appealed to all to abandon that path and mobilize under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“It is important to uphold democracy and hold election on time and keep razakars and war criminals out of power,” he said. The minister said that the deceased leader was always at the forefront of the mainstream nationalist struggle.
“He never failed the nation in its hour of trial,” he said.
Leading members, across the political spectrum, spoke at the civic ceremony.
