Hijra, a creature of Allah: Noor
NILPHAMARI, April 2019 (BSS) – Ex-minister Asaduzzaman Noor, MP, said
Sheikh Hasina government was trying to integrate Hijras into mainstream
society as they were created by Allah.
Assaduzzaman Noor said it was hard to understand why Allah created them as
such. “But then we should not neglate them because of it,” he added.
He was speaking at a meeting on third gender at the district Police Line
Auditorium this afternoon.
Police Super Mohammad Ashraf chaired the meeting. Deputy Inspector General
of Police Habibur Rahman, Additional Deputy Inspector General of police in
Rangpur region Md Mojid Ali, mayor of Nilphamari municipality Dewan Kamal
Ahmed and general secretary of Uttoron Foundation Kamrul Hassan spoke among
others in the meeting organised by the district police.
Hijra Anguri who took part in the meeting as a special guest said we have
fathers,mothers and relatives in society. In total 36 Hijras were present at
the meeting.
