DHAKA, April 16, 2019 (BSS) – One of the leading internet and services providers in the country, BDCOM Online Limited launched state of the art IPTV (Internet Protocol television) service as the first local company on Pohela Boishakh, the first day of the first day of Bengali calendar, on Sunday.
In a program at their office with the participation of Telecom Reporters’ Network Bangladesh (TRNB), the company today announced that it has introduced the service under their new campaigned “Broadband360o” – where customers will get safer internet connectivity with parental filtration.
Apart from the IPTV service, BDCOM will also offer existing internet and voice-based internet telephony service and all these packages together will be called “Triple Play Service”.
The speed of the package is expected to be about 100 Mbps, said the company’s managing director S M Golam Faruk Alamgir Arman.
“We have been offering broadband internet from the beginning while introduced IP telephony service in last decade and now brought IPTV service where customers are now enjoying around 32 television channels and would get access to nearly 120 television channels gradually,” he revealed.
He said they have connected only two dozens of connections while selected another 500 clients from 1,500 interested people.
“IPTV is still at the incubation level and it will take a few more days to run the service fully,” Arman said.
Earlier, the telecom regulator had restricted the service in the country but withdrew it in October last.
Arman said their service (Broadband360o) has a mechanism of filtering for 57 types of contents to ensure safer internet for children.
BDCOM said Broadband360o starts providing services to both home and business firms.
With other facilities, the customer is getting 75Mbps for home service at the cost of Taka 2,999 while the 100Mbps household package will cost Taka 3,999.
Besides, for business, the cost is Taka 9,999 for 75Mbps and the 100Mbps package will require Taka 11,999 per month.
