FM for skilled workforce to compete globally

DHAKA, April 14, 2019 (BSS) – Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today laid emphasis on turning the country’s entire workforce into human resources to compete more globally amid emergence of the fourth industrial revolution.

“If we can turn our workforce into human resources, we will be able to become one of the greatest economies, not only remain eight largest countries in the world in terms of population,” he said.

The foreign minister was addressing as the chief guest at the Pahela Baishakh celebration programme of the North South University on its campus in the capital.

Mentioning that the fourth industrial revolution is emerging in the world, Momen said the current government has taken many initiatives including introducing digital education to make global standard human resources in the country.

He said Bangladesh has two major resources, one is water and other one human. “We will be benefited in a great extend If we can utilize both of these resources,” he said.

He urged the students to build themselves as competent as the global standard to turn Bangladesh into “Sonar Bangla” dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Presided over by NSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Atiqul Islam, the programme also addressed by the university’s trustee board chairman M A Hasem.
