JS body meeting on Fisheries and Livestock held
DHAKA, April 10, 2019 (BSS)- The second meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Fisheries and Livestock Ministry was held today at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with chairman of the committee Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu in the chair.
Committee members state minister for fisheries and livestock Md Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, Md Shahidul Islam Bokul, Choto Monir, Nazma Akter, Shamima Aktar Khanam and Kaniz Fatema Ahmed were present at the meeting, said an official release.
The committee had an elaborate discussion on the progress of repealing “The Cruelty to Animals Act, 1920” (Act No I of 1920) along with the formulation and enactment of a new, revised bill (Animal Welfare Bill, 2019).
Officials of the ministry and JS secretariat were present on the occasion, among others.
