Stock ends with rising trend

DHAKA, April 4, 2019 (BSS) – Stock finished the week up today with rising trends at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) while Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) registered a mixed transaction.

The broader DSEX of the DSE finished the last day of the week with 7.71 points up at 5459.91. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 0.59 points up at 1,948.46 and with 0.13 points up at 1,269.42 respectively.

Out of the 345 issues traded on DSE, 157 gained against 137 losing issues and 51 remained unchanged.

During the week, the benchmark DSEX index lost 45.59 points, a 0.8 percent decrease over the last trading week. At the end of the week, index closed red at 5459.91 levels.

Market participation has decreased by 6.4 percent. All the large cap sectors showed negative movement except Cement and Food and Allied.

Among the large cap sectors, Cement posted highest positive return with 0.86 percent gain. Engineering posted the highest negative change with 2.54 percent loss. Average Trade Volume decreased by 1.7 percent and total number of trades decreased by 16.8 percent.

Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the last day of the week with its major CASPI index ending at 16,735.3.

A total of 244 issues were traded of which 91 issues were gained while 117 were losing and 36 issues remained unchanged.
