Nasim urges BNP to join parliament
DHAKA, March 31, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League Presidium member Mohammad Nasim here today urged the BNP’s elected lawmakers to join the Jatiya Sangsad to raise their voice on various issues including the release of BNP leader Begum Khaleda Zia.
“You won the polls. Come to the Jatiya Sangsad and talk on different important issues including the release of Begum Zia. Otherwise, your future will become dark,” he said at a discussion on the 48th Independence Day at the Jatiya Press Club. Gano-Azadi League organized the meeting.
Nasim, a former minister and the spokesperson of the AL-backed 14-party alliance, said, “BNP is neither in government nor in street. So they cannot derive any benefit from any issue without going to parliament.”
Chaired by Gano-Azadi League chairman SK Sikder, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by Jatiya Party (JP) Secretary General Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Awami League leader Mofazzal Hossen Chowdhury Maya, Ganotantri Party General Secretary Shahadat Hossen, National Awami Party Joint General Secretary Ismail Hossen and Gano-Azadi League Secretary General Muhammad Ataullah Khan.
