Nasim takes instant actions from ‘Meet the Press’

DHAKA, March 4, 2018 (BSS) – Health and Family Minister Mohammed Nasim today took instant actions against the irregularities in health sectors from a ‘Meet the Press’ programme.

Bangladesh Health Reporters’ Forum (BHRF) organised the programme at Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) auditorium at Topkhana Road in the city.

Following the complains made by the attending reporters, Nasim made instant call to Fetomaternal Unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and asked whether the authority have posted the only specialist to Tangail and directed them to solve the problem within two to three days.

He made another phone call to Mugda Hospital as a complaint was raised that the hospital authority used to close the X-ray unit after 12 noon which should be opened for 2.30 pm.

Nasim directed the authority to open the unit as per the schedule. He said 10,000 more doctors would be recruited to further develop the standard of health services in the country within the tenure of the government.

“The government would recruit 5,000 doctors within two to three months through special examination of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) and more 5,000 doctors would be recruited within the tenure of the government to reach health services to the doorsteps of common people,” he said.

Additional Health Secretary Habibur Rahman Khan, BMA President Dr Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin and Secretary General Dr. Md. Ehteshamul Huq Choudhury, BHRF President Towfik Maruf and Secretary Nikhil Mankin were present, among others.
