PM visits Khulna tomorrow

 DHAKA, March 2, 2018 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina goes to Khulna tomorrow on a daylong visit to join the 58th Convention of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) along with opening 47 development projects and laying the foundation stones of 52 other schemes.

Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League president, will address a public meeting, to be organized by the party, at the Circuit House Maidan in the southern divisional city in the afternoon.

IEB Honorary General Secretary Engineer Md. Abdus Sabur told BSS that the Prime Minister will inaugurate the four-day IEB convention at its Khalishpur Center at around 11 am.

In the afternoon, Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate 47 development projects and lay the foundation stones of 52 other schemes by unveiling their plaques from the Circuit House Maidan.

Talking to BSS, Khulna city unit Awami League General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Mizan, MP, said Khulna city and district units will jointly arrange the public meeting at the Circuit House Maidan at 3 pm.

“All preparations have been taken to make successful tomorrow’s public meeting in Khulna city,” he said.

Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Humayun Kabir told BSS that three-tier foolproof security measures have been taken deploying 3,500 police members and installing 800 closed circuit television cameras (CCTVs) in the city, including IEB Khalishpur Center and the Circuit House Maidan area.
