5 killed, 7 injured as passenger car rams in India

 NEW DELHI, Feb 27, 2018 (BSS/Xinhua) – At least five people were killed and seven others injured Tuesday after a car carrying passengers rammed into another stationary vehicle in India’s western state of Maharashtra, police said.

The accident took place at Haglur village in Solapur district, about 400 km east of Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra.

“Early today a car carrying passengers hit a parked sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Tuljapur-Pandharpur road at Haglur village, which resulted in injuring 12 persons in both the vehicles,” a police official posted in Solapur said.

“All the injured were removed to the nearest hospital, where five were declared brought dead and seven others are being provided treatment.”
