Speaker urges expatriates to invest in Bangladesh
DHAKA, March 6, 2019 (BSS) -Speaker of the Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Dr
Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury urged expatriates to invest in Bangladesh as an
investment-friendly environment prevails here.
“The social and economic development of the country is now a visible.
Bangladesh’s capacity by all indexes has now reached a new height,” the
speaker said when the Speaker of East London’s Tower Hamlets Mohammad Ayas
Miah paid a courtesy call on her.
During the meeting they discussed different issues, including
parliamentary affairs, country’s l development and investment, said an
official release this evening.
Referring to the role of the expatriates for country’s development and
progress, Dr Chaudhury said Bangladesh citizens, working abroad, are
contributing to the country’s economy, simultaneously, earning foreign
currency and also upholding the image of the country abroad.
The Bangladesh Speaker congratulated Ayas Miah for his election as the
Speaker of Tower Hamlets.
Ayas recalled the existing good relations between Bangladesh and the
United Kingdom and hoped that the relations would be strengthened in the days
to come.
He also congratulated Speaker Shirin Sharmin for her assumption of office
at the Jatiya Sangsad for the third consecutive term.
Senior officials of the parliamentary secretariat and chairperson of the
Centre for Non-Resident Bangladeshi (NRB) MS Shakil Chowdhury, among others,
were present on the occasion.
