DCCI urges Swedish, Danish entrepreneurs to invest more

DHAKA, March 5, 2019 (BSS) – President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and
Industry (DCCI) Osama Taseer today urged the Swedish and Danish entrepreneurs
to invest more in Bangladesh as the government of the country offers some of
the world’s most competitive fiscal and non-fiscal incentives to the foreign
investors.

“The trade relation among Bangladesh, Sweden and Denmark has developed
significantly. Bangladesh now exports ready-made garment, frozen food,
agricultural products, jute goods, chemical and toiletry products, light
engineering products, leather goods, bicycles, ceramic products, home textile
and handicrafts, ICT products and services to Sweden and Denmark,” he said.

The business body president said this while meeting with Ambassador of
Sweden to Bangladesh Charlotta Schlyter and Ambassador of Denmark to
Bangladesh Winnie Estrup Petersen at DCCI in the city, said a press release.

Osama Taseer said there are so many potential areas in business sector in
the country where intensive joint cooperation can be made like in technology
transfer, ready-made garment and skill development.

He invited the entrepreneurs of Denmark and Sweden to invest more in
Bangladesh specially in the ready-made garment, ship building,
pharmaceuticals, agriculture, leather and footwear, ICT, light engineering,
automotive, electrical and electronics and Infrastructure sectors.

DCCI Senior Vice-President Waqar Ahmad Choudhury, Vice-President Imran
Ahmed and Directors Hossain A Sikder, KMN Manjurul Hoque, Mohammad
Bashiruddin and SM Zillur Rahman were also present, among others, on the
occasion.
