DHAKA, March 4, 2019 (BSS) – Emphasizing on the necessity of bringing both
government and private data providing organizations on a unified platform,

today said the move would help stop waste of time and money.

“Special data is becoming important following technological development and
excellence. Technology is becoming a major challenge not only for Bangladesh
but also for the whole world,” he added.

The minister was addressing a seminar on “Pilot project for designing ideal
national special data infrastructure (NSDI)” in a city hotel, organized
jointly by the ministry of defense, survey of Bangladesh and JICA.

Laying importance on artificial intelligence, big data and IoT to face the
challenges of future technologies, he said value of geo-special data is
unlimited for sustainable development of the country.

Mentioning that at present special data is being prepared and used by
different organizations in scattered ways, Jabbar said all data should be
stored in a platform through NSDI which would also help to escape data
duplicity.

Defense Secretary Md Akhter Hossain, Surveyor General of Bangladesh Brig
Gen Md Muniruzzaman and JICA Chief Representative in Bangladesh also spoke on
