DSCC taskforce cuts utility lines of 29 chemical warehouses

DHAKA, Mar 4, 2019 (BSS) – The Taskforce of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) today cut utility lines of 29 households on the fourth consecutive day of its drive against illegal chemical warehouses in Old Dhaka.

The Taskforce having five committees cut utility lines of 76 chemical godowns and factories in four days of its drive, DSCC public relations officer Uttam Kumar Roy told BSS.

The month-long drive that started on February 28 following a chemical-fed fire incident claiming lives of 69 people will continue till April 1, he said.

The 5 no committee of the Taskforce cut utility lines of seven warehouse in Tnatibazar area, 2 no committee cut utility lines of eight godowns in Haranath Ghosh and Nanda Kumar Datta Road area, 1 no committee cut utility lines of eight households at Nilambar and Maneswar of Hajaribag area and the 3 no committee cut utility lines of six households in the old part of the city, Uttam said.

The five committees of the DSCC taskforce start the drive from 10:30 am everyday from the Nagar Bhaban, he added.
