Mannan for collective efforts to attain required economic growth

DHAKA, Mar 4, 2019 (BSS) – Planning Minster MA Mannan today underscored the need for collective efforts from both public and private sector to attain required economic growth aimed at achieving the development goals, Vision-2021 and Vision-2041.

“In order to attract investment, we have to improve ourselves in ease of doing business index. The government is committed to complete the mega projects in time. Faster completion of mega projects will expedite business and public life,” he said.

The minister was speaking while meeting with the Board of Directors of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), led by its President Osama Taseer, at the Planning Ministry in the city, said a press release.

Mannan urged the private sector to place necessary recommendations for doing well in ease of doing business index.

Osama Taseer said Bangladesh will have to create a sustainable business-friendly environment in order to help graduate the country into a developing nation by the year 2024.

To attain double digit GDP growth in the years to come, he said, Bangladesh will have to frame business friendly policies, mitigate the challenges of infrastructure and attract local and foreign investments.

Among others, DCCI Vice President Imran Ahmed and its directors Hossain A Sikder, Ashraf Ahmed, Rashedul Karim Munna, Deen Mohammed, Enamul Haque Patwary, Engineer M Al Amin, Mohammad Bashiruddin, Nuher L. Khan and SM Zillur Rahman were present.
