RANGPUR, Feb 24, 2018 (BSS) – The three-day first South Asian Photo Festival-2018 ended at Rangpur Public Library auditorium in the city on Friday evening through colourful closing and prize distribution ceremonies.
Rangpur Photographic Society (RPS) in association with Rangpur Photo Journalists’ Association (RPJA) organised the festival on the occasion of the ‘Shaheed Dibosh’ and the International Mother Language Day.
Around 100 photos from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand and Sri Lanka were exhibited at the festival.
Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa attended the closing session of the festival and distributed prize money, crests and certificates among the winners.
Chaired by RPS convener Mahtab Litan, president of Rangpur Press Club Sadrul Alam Dulu and president of Rangpur Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rezaul Islam Milan also attended the closing ceremony.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Divisional Commissioner (Additional Secretary) Kazi Hassan Ahmed inaugurated the photo festival by cutting ribbon.
