JS committee meeting on Liberation War Affairs Ministry held
DHAKA, Feb 25, 2019 (BSS) – The first meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs of the 11th Parliament was held in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here today.
Chairman of the committee Shajahan Khan chaired the meeting. The committee members Liberation Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Rajiuddin Ahmed, Major (Retd) Rafiqul Islam, AB Tajul Islam, Kazi Firoz Rashid and AKM Rahmatullah attended the meeting, said a press release.
In the meeting, overall activities of the Jatio Muktijoddha Council (Jamuka) were discussed in details.
The meeting was informed that so far the Jamuka recommended to the government for inclusion the names of 139 employees of the Mujibnagar Government and names 195 sound soldiers of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra and cultural organizations formed during the Liberation War.
The meeting was also informed that Jamuka has given registrations to 266 freedom fighters’ organization aiming at ensuring socio-economic development of the freedom fighters and their children.
Secretary of the Liberation War Affairs Ministry and other officials concerned were present at the meeting.
