DHAKA, Feb 24, 2019 (BSS) – In the ongoing Ekushey Book Fair, the country’s
largest literature festival, poetry volumes continue to rule as 1,271 of the
total 3,806 books released so far fall in that category.
Short story books came second with the publications of 620 books. Books of
novel ranking third so far with the publications of 576 books, the Bangla
Academy sources said.
Of those, books of essay got fourth position with 215 publications,
children novels were fifth with 199 publications.
Besides, 131 biographies, 93 Liberation War related books, 63 researches,
64 science books, 36 dramas were released in this fair so far.
Expressing his satisfaction on publishing of more than 200 articles and
research till now, writer, researcher and the Liberation War Museum Trustee
Mofidul Huq said huge research works are going on the Liberation War and the
Language Movement in the country.
