Online building design approval to start May 1: Rezaul
DHAKA, Feb 14, 2019 (BSS) – Housing and Public Works Minister Advocate S M Rezaul Karim today said people from now on will get building design approval through online from May 1 next.
“As per the new decision, now people would have to take approval from four government agencies instead of 16 through online… Online activities on building design approval will begin from May 1 next aimed at making the design approval process easier,” he said.
The minister was addressing the inaugural session of ‘International Fire, Safety and Security Expo-2019’ at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the city.
Rezaul said city corporations, the Fire Services, Dhaka WASA, Dhaka Transport Co-ordination Authority, Bangladesh Inland water Transport Authority (BIWTA) and Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) are the mentionable government agencies out of 16.
With Electronics Safety and Security Association of Bangladesh (ESSAB) President Md Motaher Hossain Khan in the chair, it was addressed by Rapid Action Battalion Director General Benzir Ahmed, Director General of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence Brigadier General Ali Ahmed Khan, FBCCI President Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin and BGMEA President Siddiqur Rahman.
The 3-day exhibition began today aiming to make the people aware of fire safety and security system with the arrangement of showcasing fire, safety and security related products.
ESSAB organized the exhibition with the help of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense and National Fire Protection Association NFPA, (USA).
People can visit the exhibition from 10:30am to 7:30pm till February 16.
