Dhaka summons Pak envoy over derogatory comments on Bangladesh, Bangabandhu

DHAKA, Feb 12, 2019 (BSS) – The foreign office today summoned Islamabad’s
acting high commissioner in Dhaka and lodged a strong protest against
derogatory comments posted in a Pakistani government website involving
Bangladesh and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“We summoned the (Pakistani) envoy this afternoon and handed him a strongly
worded protest note, expressing our discontent over the issue,” director
general of the foreign ministry’s South Asia wing Tareque Muhammad told BSS.

He said the foreign ministry found some derogatory remarks about
Bangabandhu at the comments sections of a government website which “could
have been barred by the concerned Pakistan government authority”.

Tareque said the ministry summoned Shah Fasial Kakar soon after “we noticed
the objectionable remarks”.
