DHAKA, Feb 7, 2019 (BSS)- Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today asked the District Information Officers (DIOs) to discharge their duties with morality and utmost sincerity to build Bangladesh as a developed country.
“Dream is a requisite for development. So you should discharge your duties devotedly,” he said, speaking at the inaugural function of a workshop of district information officers of 64 districts at an auditorium of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) here.
Department of Mass Communication (DMC) under the ministry organized the workshop with DMC Director General Md Jakir Hossain in the chair.
Information Secretary Abdul Malek addressed the function as the special guest while Additional Secretary Mohammad Azharul Haque and A2I Project Director Mostafizur Rahman conducted the workshop.
Hasan said the DIOs have been tasked with presenting the government’s development activities, including the ‘Ten Initiatives’, before the common people alongside creating mass awareness against drug abuse, eve teasing and child marriage.
The minister Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is dreaming of building a developed nation and implementing it through ‘Vision 2021’ and ‘Vision 2041’. She is now implementing the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he added.
Hasan urged the DIOs to work with utmost sincerity and responsibility.
