11th JS forms five committees

SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 4, 2019 (BSS) – The 11th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) today formed
five parliamentary standing committees including the House committee.

With Leader of the House and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s approval, Chief
whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury proposed the names of the committees and the
members following the Rules of Procedure concerned.

The JS unanimously adopted the proposals in the House by voice votes with
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
The committees were included House Committee, Standing Committee on Ministry
of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Standing Committee on Ministry of
Defense, Standing Committee on Ministry of Planning and Standing Committee on
Ministry of Land.

Abdul Matin Khasru was elected chairman of the Standing Committee on Ministry
of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and the members of the committee
were Anisul Huq, Advocate Sahara Khatun, Md Shamsul Haque Tuku, Md Abdul Majid
Khan, Shahiduzzaman Sarkar, Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and Shamim Haider
Patwari.

Chief Whip proposed for Major General Mohammad Shubid Ali Bhuiyan (Retd.), as
Chairman of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Defense, while other members
were Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Helal Uddin, Lt. Col. Muhammad Faruk Khan (Retd),
Habibur Rahman Khan, Md Elias Uddin Mollah, Motahar Hossain, Nazmul Hasan and
Nasir Uddin Mohibur Rahman.

Abul Kalam Azad was elected chairman of the parliamentary standing committee
on the planning ministry. The other members were MA Mannan, Major (Retd)
Rafiqul Islam, Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Hafiz Ahmed Majumder, Dr Biren Sikder,
Morshed Alam, GM Quader and Manzur Hossain.

Mokbul Hossain will head the committee on the land ministry. The other members
were Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, Manoranjan Shil Gopal, Habibur Rahman, Md Akabbar
Hossain, Anwarul Azim Anar, Shahjahan Miah, Moslem Uddin and Nesar Ahmed.

The Js also formed House committee headed by Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury,
while other members were AB Tajul Islam, Iqbalur Rahim, Fazle Hossain Badsha,
Kazi Feroz Rashid, Mahbub Ara Gini, Abu Zahir, Noor Mohammad, Manzur Hossain,
Ashek Ullah Rafique and Shawkat Hasanur Rahman.
