Four killed in Tangail road accidents
TANGAIL, Feb 3, 2019 (BSS) – Four people including mother and daughter of a
family were killed in separate road accidents in the district today.
The deceased were identified as Bachaton Begum, 70, her daughter Jahanara
Begum, 52, Hajrot Ali, 70 and Hridoy, 14. All were the residents of Mirzapur
upazila.
Police said an accident occurred in Basail on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway
this noon when a truck crushed Jahanara and her mother Bachaton Begum in the
area, leaving Jahanara dead on the spot.
Critically injured Bachaton was rushed to Tangail General Hospital where
she succumbed to her injuries. Police held the truck driver.
Besides, Hajrot Ali and Hridoy were killed in two separate accidents in
Mirzapur and Sakhipur upazilas.
Hajrot Ali died as a motorcycle hit him on Mirzapur-Balia Road and Hridoi
was killed while a CNG-run auto-rickshaw crushed his bicycle on Gorai-
Sakhipur Road this noon.
Police seized the motorcycle and the CNG-run auto-rickshaw.
