German inflation slumps to 1.4% in January: official data
FRANKFURT AM MAIN, Jan 30, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – Inflation in Europe’s largest
economy Germany fell back in January, official data showed, taking it further
from the European Central Bank’s price growth target.
Prices were 1.4 percent higher this month than a year before, federal
statistics authority Destatis said, down from 1.7 percent in December and
short of the ECB’s goal of just below 2.0 percent.
