Fire at Ctg Victoria Jute Mill under control
CHATTOGRAM, Jan 18, 2019 (BSS)- A devastating fire broke out at Victoria Jute Mill, a decades old facility which is currently in use as a warehouses for various companies, in city’s Pahartoli area.
Jashim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defense in Chattogram, said the fire erupted in the wire house around 4.50 pm and quickly spread out to surrounding wire houses.
A total of 17 firefighting units from different areas in the city and district rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control around 9.21 pm, he said.
The origin and losses of fire at the wire house could not be known immediately, Jashim added.
