Dhaka Dynamites keep winning run in BPL

DHAKA, Jan 12, 2019 (BSS) – Dhaka Dynamites recorded their fourth
successive victory in the Bangladesh Premier League T20 beating Sylhet Sixers
by 32 runs in the 12th match of the tournament held on Saturday at Sher-e-
Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.

Thanks to Rony Talukder for his blistering half century that steered
Dhaka to post a challenging to total of 173 for 7 from their allotted 20
overs after they opted to bat first.

In reply, Sylhet Sixers found the chase stiff and eventually able to
pick up 141 for 9 in 20 overs.

Rony blasted 34-ball off 58-run laced with five boundaries and three
over boundaries and during the process he shared 67-run for the second wicket
stand with Sinil Narine who chipped away 21-ball off 25 with the help of two
boundaries and equal number of over boundaries.

Sylhet Sixers however fought back in the middle picking up some wickets
but could not prevent Dhaka to post a competitive total as skipper Shakib Al
Hasan (23) and Nurul Hasan (18) added useful contribution for their side.

Later cameo Niam Sheikh made a quick fire unbeaten 23-ball off 25 runs
helped Dhaka to set post a challenging target for Sylhet.

Pacer Taskin Ahmed was the pick of Sylhet Sixers bowler as he claimed
three wickets conceding 38 runs.

Sylhet started their chase badly as they slipped 6 for 56 runs in the
score board and finally they were cheaply dismissed at Nicholas Pooran, the
top scorer of Sylhet’s innings, however offered some resistance with a
fighting 47-ball off 72 runs but failed to get any support from the other
end.

Rubel Hossain was the most successful bowler for Dhaka as he grabbed
three Sylhet’s wicket giving away 22 runs.

Besides, Shuvagata Hom and Shakib Al Hasan shared four wickets among
them for 28 and 34 runs respectively.

With this win, Dhaka Dynamites maintained their top slot in the points
table with eight points from four matches while Sylhet Sixers remained at
their previous credit of two points playing the three outings. BSS/SG/IJ/1040
