AL bags 3 seats, independent one in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, Dec 30, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) candidates have been
elected unofficially by a huge margin from Faridpur-1, 2 and 3 constituencies
while an independent candidate won from Faridpur-4 in the 11th parliamentary
elections today.

Returning Officer Umme Salma Tanzia announced the unofficial results of
all the four constancies of the district this evening.

AL candidate Manjur Hossain bagged 306,891 votes with “boat” symbol in
all 194 polling centres from Faridpur-1 while his nearest rival of BNP
candidate Shah Md Abu Jafar secured 26,162 votes with “sheaf of Paddy”.

In Faridpur-2, AL candidate Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury bagged 219,206 votes
with “boat” symbol in all 123 polling centres while her nearest rival of BNP
candidate Shama Obayed 14,885 votes with “sheaf of Paddy” symbol.

AL candidate Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain bagged 274,871 votes with “boat”
symbol in all 153 polling centres from Faridpur-3 while his rival BNP
candidate Chowdhury Kamal Ibn Yousuf 21,704 votes with “sheaf of Paddy”
symbol.

In Faridpur-4 constituency, independent candidate Majubir Rahman
Chowdhury Nixon bagged 145,000 votes in all 179 polling stations while his
nearest rival of AL candidate Kazi Jafar Ullah 95,166 with “boat” symbol.
