PM-RALLY-VIDEOCONFERENCING 2 LAST DHAKA

Referring to BNP-Jamaat mayhem in 2014 and 2015, the prime minister said the BNP had started fire terrorism to foil the elections and topple the government. “But they were compelled to stop such heinous acts when the people put up resistance against them,” she said.

“We’ve received information that they will embark on such terrorist acts again three or four days before the elections. So the countrymen will have to remain alert to this end,” she said.

The prime minister urged the countrymen to reject the BNP-Jamaat nexus and reelect the Awami League government to keep up the country’s progress and development.

“I urge the countrymen to reject the looters and those, who embezzled orphans’ money and were convicted in the August 21 grenade case and the 10-truck arms haul case, through the December 30 elections,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina said the BNP-Jamaat will ruin the country again and stop all development works if they come to power. “The BNP-Jamaat will destroy the country and will hand over it to Al-Badar and Al-Shams if they are elected,” she said.

The prime minister recalled that the anti-liberation forces after coming to power in 2001 harboured terrorism and militancy and created Bangla Bhai in the country.

Highlighting Bangladesh’s tremendous development over the last 10 years, the AL president said to continue the pace of uplift, it is necessary to keep the pro-liberation forces in power.

She said Bangladesh will be built in the spirit of the Liberation War and the ideology of Bangabandhu and there will be no room for terrorism, militancy and anti-liberation forces in future.

The prime minister said her government implemented huge number of development schemes in the last 10 years. “So I seek vote for the Awami League and Mohajote candidates in the upcoming elections to continue the pace of uplift,” she said.

“We want to build a hunger and poverty-free Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Bangabandhu,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina said the people got scope to speak in our mother tongue and earned independence by casting vote for boat. “They are now getting touch of development as they cast vote for the Awami League,” she said.

The premier said every village of the country got touch of development as her government remained in power for 10 years at a stretch. “There will not be a single person to remain homeless and every house will be illuminated if the Awami League is reelected,” she said.

Sheikh Hasina also elaborated massive development of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Brahmmanbaria and Pirojepur that took place in the last 10 years and said uplift takes place when Awami League remains in power.

The prime minister said her government upgraded the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway to four lanes and started work of the rail line from the port city to Gundhum via Cox’s Bazar.

“We will introduce bullet train on Dhaka-Chattogram route if we are reelected,” she said.

The AL president also introduced the Awami League and Mohajote candidates of the four districts to the people present at the rallies through videoconferencing.

Besides the candidates, local Awami League leaders also spoke at the rallies.
