Vote for ‘Boat’ for continuation of development: Speaker

RANGPUR, Dec 12, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today called upon the people to cast their votes for ‘Boat’ for continuation of development under leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“If voted to power, the Awami League (AL)-led grand alliance government will work to build a developed ‘Sonar Bangla’ to be freed from hunger, poverty and discrimination as dreamt by Bangabandhu,” she said.

She said this while talking to common people and addressing streets rallies in Choitrokol union area of Pirganj upazila in the district during her day-long public contact.

She said in last ten years the country witnessed huge development Bangladesh has graduated from the LDCs to the status of a developing country.

She urged people to strengthen the hands of Sheikh Hasina by voting for ‘Boat’ in the December 30 general election to establish the dream of ‘Sonar Bangla’, dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“If voted to power through the eleventh parliamentary election, we will implement more development projects in Pirganj upazila to turn the upazila into a specially advanced area in the country,” she said.

In the morning, Dr Shirin offered Fateha at the graves of noted nuclear scientist Dr M A Wazed Miah at his birthplace Fatehpur Laldighee village and poet Heyat Mamud at Jharbishla village in Pirganj upazila.

Pirganj municipal Mayor SM Tazimul Islam Shamim, Pirganj Upazila Chairman and AL leader Noor Mohammad Mandal, Senior Vice-president of District Awami League Chhayadat Hossain Bakul, Acting President of Pirganj upazila AL Azizul Haque Ranga, President of district Chhatra League Mehedee Hasan Rony, Upazila JASOD President Mir Mohammad Ali Manik and President of upazila Jatiya Party Nure Alam Jadu accompanied the Speaker.
