DHAKA, Dec 5, 2018 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI will
play a lone one-day practice match against visiting West Indies schedule to
be held tomorrow (Thursday) at BKSP Cricket Ground 3.

Bangladesh one-day captain Masrafe Bin Mortaza will lead the BCB XI
which also featured opening batsman Tamim Iqbal, who has not played since
suffering a hand injury in the Asia Cup in September.

For West Indies, With Jason Holder’s shoulder injury keeping him out of
the Bangladesh tour, Rovman Powell will lead the Windies for the first time
in his career, during the upcoming ODI series.

Powell had an average outing in the ODI series against India, with only
61 runs in five innings. However, he had a productive time during the T10
League, scoring 177 runs at a strike rate of 226.92, including a 25-ball 61
in the final that laid the platform for Northern Warriors’ title victory.

Meanwhile, the Windies will be boosted by the return of Darren Bravo,
who is set to play his first ODI in over two years. All-rounder Roston Chase
and Carlos Brathwaite, the T20I skipper, are also part of the 15-member squad
for the three-match series.

Courtney Browne, the chairman of selectors, welcomed the return of Bravo
to the ODI squad and said the left-hander will have a key role to play in the
series. “In the absence of captain Jason Holder, the panel believes the team
can still be competitive, especially with the return of Darren Bravo.
Darren’s experience will add value to the batting, which in turn will place
selection pressure for spots in the squad.”

Windies will be keen to bounce back after being whitewashed in the two-
match Test series by Bangladesh. The ODI series gets underway from December 9
in Dhaka, which will also host the second game on December 11. The third
match will be played in Sylhet on December 14.
