Applications sought for BPC award
DHAKA, Dec 03, 2018 (BSS) – Applications have been sought for the
Bangladesh Press Council (BPC) Award-2019 in different categories by January
5, 2019.
The council will confer the award in seven categories including –
institutional award, regional institutional award, life time achievement
award, rural journalism, development journalism, women journalists and photo
journalism, on February 14, 2019, marking its founding anniversary, said a
press release here today.
According to the release, the first three categories of the awards —
institutional award, regional institutional award and life time achievement
award — will be nominated directly by the jury board while applications for
the remaining four categories were sought in this regard.
Candidates having experience of working with newspaper or electronic media
as reporter or photographer, can apply for the award in designated
application form with hard copy of their reports or features published within
January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.
None would be allowed to attach more than one report or feature with the
application.
Detailed information regarding the award, including application form, is
available on the council website – www.presscouncil.gov.bd, the release said.
The applications should be sent directly or by post office to Secretary
(Joint Secretary), Bangladesh Press Council, 40, Topkhana Road, Segunbagicha,
Dhaka by January 5, 2019.
The BPC launched the award in 2017 for the first time aimed at making its
mission and vision more visible and improving the quality of the country’s
media and journalism sector.
