RAB arrests Shibir activist over website scams
DHAKA, Nov 24, 2018 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-2 members today picked up an activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir for making and running clone websites.
Enamul Haque, 31, a PhD student of South Korea’s Kyungpook National University (KNU), was arrested from Airport Railway Station this noon.
“Enamul, a central committee member of Islami Chhatra Shibir, used to clone websites of different news agencies including daily Prothom Alo, Bangla Tribune and BBC Bangla and distort the contents.
He used to run anti-government campaign on the sites and earn money from these,” RAB-2 commander Mohiuddin Faruki told BSS.
The RAB official said filing of a case is underway with Kamalapur Railway Police Station under Digital Security Act.
