DSE transactions increase by 82.08pc in 2017
DHAKA, Dec 28, 2017 (BSS) – Transactions in the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased by 82.08 percent year-on-year with a total turnover of Taka 2,16,959 crore in 2017 and a daily average turnover of Taka 874.83 crore.
In 2016, total turnover was Taka 1,19,157 crore with a daily average turnover of Taka 494.43 crore, according to a statement issued by DSE here today.
In 2017, DSE also witnessed a successful year for foreign investment by generating Taka 11,447.63 crore which was 30.48 percent or Taka 2674.34 crore up than the previous year.
Foreign investors passed the year by keeping their attention on purchasing shares as they purchased Taka 6576.29 crore securities during the period while 5,057.04 securities selling.
In 2017, the broader index DSEX finished the year with 1,208.47 points or 24 percent up at 6,244.52.
The DS30 for the blue chip scrips and DSES for Shariah-based companies also followed the upward trend with 472.31 points or 26.08 percent up at 2,283.23 and 198.80 points or 16.68 percent up at 1,390.67 respectively.
