WI reaches 54 for 3 at lunch on day 2 in 1st Test

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 23, 2018 (BSS)- Visiting West Indies suffered early batting
jolt in their first innings as they scored 54 for 3 at lunch against host
Bangladesh on the second day of the first Test of two-match series at Zahur
Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Friday.

Taijul launched early inroad on West Indies innings as he trapped Kieran
Powell in front of the stumps as Bangladesh made the first break though of
the day in the 11th over.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan then sent back to Shai Hope making him clean bowled
while Windies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite gave a catch to Soumya Sarkar at slip
in the same over, leaving West Indies in trouble.

Roston Chase and Sunil Ambris were on the crease with 19 and 5 runs
respectively as the umpire removed the bails for lunch break.

Shakib claimed two West Indies’s wickets conceding 11 runs while Taijul
took one wicket for 12 runs.

West Indies still trailed by 270 runs with seven wickets in hand.

Earlier, Bangladesh finally was dismissed their first innings at 324
against visiting West Indies.

The host added only nine runs with their overnight total of 315 losing
remaining two wickets.

Jomel Warrican struck early on Bangladesh innings picking up both the
wicket early in the morning.

He first took the wicket of overnight batsman Nayeem Hasan for 26 and then
dismissed Mustafizur Rahman for 0.

Taijul Islam was remained unbeaten with 39 runs.

Jomel Warrican, who took two wickets on the first day,

claimed two more wicket on the second day to finish his spells with 4 for
62 runs while Shannon Gabriel also captured 4 for 70 runs.
