BSS chief mourns managing editor’s death

DHAKA, Nov 17, 2018 (BSS) – Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Abul Kalam Azad today expressed profound shock at the death of BSS Managing Editor Shahriar Shahid.

In a message of condolence, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Shahriar and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

In a separate condolence message, the BSS unit of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) also expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Shahriar.

BSS unit chief A Z M Sajjad Hossain (Sabuj) and deputy chief Kazi Golam Alauddin (Tanvir Aladin) prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Shahriar and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Shahriar Shahid breathed his last at 1:50 pm today at Apollo Hospital in the city where he had been undergoing treatment at its coronary care unit (CCU) since November 14 following a heart attack. He was 55.

Son of now defunct English daily Bangladesh Times former editor late AKM Shahidul Haque, he is survived by his wife, only son and a host of relatives and admirers.
