HC grants bail to Shahidul Alam
DHAKA, Nov 15, 2018 (BSS)-The High Court today granted bail to
photographer Shahidul Alam.
A HC bench comprising Justice Sheikh Abdul Awal and Justice Bhismadev
Chakrabortty passed the order following a petition filed by Shahidul seeking
bail in a case filed under the ICT Act.
The bench granted the bail considering his age and the time he spent
behind bar.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam stood for the state during the hearing
while Barrister Sarah Hossain and Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua for Shahidul.
The state side will move an appeal before the Appellate Division of the
Supreme Court seeking a stay on the HC order, said sources at the attorney
general’s office.
