JP sells 553 nomination papers on first day
DHAKA, Nov 11, 2018 (BSS) – Jatiya Party (JP) today sold a total of 553 party nomination papers among the aspirants seeking to contest in the 11th parliamentary polls.
JP Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Haowlader disclosed this at a press briefing at its Banani office in the capital this evening.
He said JP is ready for the election. But it is the jurisdiction of the Election Commission whether they would defer the polls schedule or not, he added.
Ruhul said discussion is going regarding formation of the grand alliance.
He hoped that the forthcoming election will be held in a free, fair and peaceful manner with the participation of all political parties.
JP Presidium Members Sunil Shuvo Roy and Major (Retd) Khaled Akther Abdus Sabur Asud, among others, were present in the press briefing.
Earlier, JP Chairman HM Ershad inaugurated the selling of party nomination papers in the morning.
