Three get best innovator’s award at Women’s Innovation Camp

DHAKA, Nov 5, 2018 (BSS) – Three women received best innovators’ award for
their ideas in Women’s Innovation Camp-2018, the maiden all women innovative
competition in the country.

Of the 316 ideas submitted from all across the country, three were chosen
to be the best for their effectiveness in ensuring women empowerment in
social and financial structure.

Lipi Khatun received the award for her idea ‘Women Home’, Tanjila Islam
for ‘Amader Shishu Amader Gorbo (our children our pride)’ and Afroza Ahmed
for her mobile application to ensure university counseling and mental health,
a press release said.

The awardees received Taka one lakh each.

Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Department of Women Affairs and
Access to Information (a2i) Programme organized the competition for the third
time in the country.

With the assistance from ICT Division, UNDP and USAID, a boot camp was
organized in this regard at The Palace Luxury Resort at Habiganj, where ICT
Division Secretary Zuena Aziz, a2i project director Md Mostafizur Rahman,
additional secretary of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Jabed
Ahmed, Dhaka University professor Dr Sadeka Halim, and BUET professor Dr Md.
Ashraful Islam acted as judges.
