Jail Killing Day observed in Mymensingh
MYMENSINGH, Nov 3, 2018 (BSS) – The mournful Jail Killing Day was observed
in the city today paying rich tribute to the four national leaders
assassinated inside the Dhaka Central Jail on this day in 1975.
City unit of Bangladesh Awami League and its front-organizations observed
the day through various programmes paying due homage to the martyred.
Marking the day, floral wreaths were placed at the portraits of the four
national leaders, black flags were hoisted atop buildings, mourning
procession and discussion were held and special prayers were offered at
mosques.
The District and City AL and its front organizations went to the residence
of Shahid Syed Nazrul Islam at college road area this morning, where the
Secretary of district AL Advocate Muazzem Hossain and President of city AL
Ehatasamul Alam placed wreaths at the portrait of the great leader.
They also paid respect to the memories of the four national leaders and
prayed for eternal peace of their departed souls.
AL leader and Chairman of the Mymensingh Zila parisad Yusuf Khan Pathan
and Administrator of City Corporation Ekramul Haque Teto were also present on
the occasion.
Besides, the mournful jail killing day was observed in all 13 upazilas of
the district in a befitting manner.
