AL to resist any unconstitutional change of power: Quader

DHAKA, Nov 1, 2018 (BSS)-Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader
today said AL leaders-workers along with the people would resist conspiracy
of creating any unconstitutional situation in the country.

“If anybody tries to foil the election and hatches conspiracy to change
power in the unconstitutional way, we AL leaders-workers along with people
will give then a befitting answer,” said Oabidul Quader at a press briefing
after a joint meeting of AL at party president’s office at Dhanmondi.

Obaidul Quader chaired the meeting while members of AL secretariat,
associate bodies, Dhaka metropolitan south and north’s AL presidents-
secretaries, parliament members of Dhaka city, Dhaka south and north city
corporation Mayors attended it.

Obaidul Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said AL
President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very much optimistic, dynamic
and AL leaders-activists are united under the leadership of the premier to
thwart any conspiracy or sabotage.

“People will resist any violence,” said AL general secretary, adding law
enforcement agencies will remain alert against destructive activities.

“We will extend our mass conduct activities across the country from
tomorrow,” said Obaidul Quader.

A festive mood is prevailing in the country over the upcoming election, he
said, adding that AL would follow the rules and regulations imposed by the
Election Commission.

Afzal Hossain, Deputy-Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, Central Member
Of AL ABM Riazul Kabir Kawser, Marufa Akter Papi, among others, were present
at the briefing.
