JU Butterfly fair on Nov 2
SAVAR, Oct 31, 2018 (BSS) – The Butterfly Fair-2018 will be held on
November 2 at Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus.
JU Zoology Department will organize the fair at the Zahir Raihan auditorium
on university premises to increase public awareness about butterfly
conservation.
Professor Dr. Md. Monwar Hossain, convener of the fair made the disclosure
of the event through a press conference at the office of Jahangirnagar
University Journalists’ Association (JUJA).
‘Like previous year, we are going to organize the fair on the campus. We
will try to highlight the necessity of insects like butterfly in conserving
biodiversity in nature.
‘This year, young butterfly award will be given to Fahmina Sarker Borsha
of Zoology department of the university and butterfly award will be give to
Jibon O Bikas Karjcrom, a non profit organization,” he added.
JU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Farzana Islam will inaugurate the fair
as the chief guest.
The daylong fair will feature drawing competition for children, photography
exhibition, butterfly exhibition, butterfly shaped kite flying competition
for children, butterfly race, debate competition and documentary exhibition
on butterfly and its Habitat.
