DHAKA, Oct 30, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League presidium member Begum Matia Chowdhury today urged farmers to play an important role in ensuring victory of Awami League in the upcoming parliamentary election.

“The farmers are getting microcredit under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina…as a result, a vast development has been achieved in agriculture sector,” she said while addressing a rally in front of AL central office at Bangabandhu Avenue here.

Krishak League organised the rally titled ‘Krishak Bachao, Desh Bachao (save farmers, save country)’ with its president Md Motahar Hossain in the chair.

Awami League joint-general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif addressed the rally as a special guest while Krishak League general secretary Advocate Shamsul Haque Reza, its vice president SM Jahangir Hossain and organising secretary Bishwanath Sarker Bitu, among others, spoke.

Matia strongly criticised Dr Kamal Hossain as he formed an alliance with BNP-Jamaat.

Speaking at the rally, Hanif said the country’s people have the right weather they take part in the election or not. “But, none has the right to seize the voting rights of commoners” he added.
