Dhaka South Jubo League demands banning of BNP
DHAKA, Oct 20, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka City South unit of Awami Jubo League leaders today demanded the government to ban BNP describing it as a terrorist organization.
They made the call at a rally at Jubojagaran Manch in the city’s Kakrail area at 3 pm.
They also distributed leaflets and brought out a procession from the venue demanding banning of BNP, said a press release here.
Dhaka City South Jubo League organized the rally as a 10-point programme, declared by Jubo League Chairman Omar Faruq Chowdhury, demanding banning of BNP as a terrorist organization.
President of Dhaka City South unit of Jubo League Ismail Chowdhury Samrat addressed the rally while its Vice-President Mainuddin Rana, Sohrab Hossain Swapan, Kamal Uddin Khan Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Palash, Khorshed Alam Masud, Organizing Secretary Mizanur Rahman Bakul, Gazi Sarwar Hossain Babu, Ibrahim Khalil Maruf, Publicity Secretary Arman Haque Babu and Office Secretary Amdad joined the rally, among others.
Earlier on October 18, Jubo League Chairman Omar Faruq Chowdhury announced the 10-point programme banning of BNP as a terrorist organization.
The 10-point programme includes mass signature campaign, submission of memorandums to the President and the Prime Minister, the Election Commission, the chief justice and the United Nations secretary general, the European Union and the Amnesty International.
The programme also includes exchanging views with different professional organizations.
